Description: LifeLung is seeking passionate interns to support current and emerging department needs in community outreach, event planning, volunteer services, and marketing. Well-suited candidates should have an interest in the non-profit sector.

An internship with LifeLung offers hands-on experience with a quickly-growing nonprofit that requires the commitment and investment of its participants. We provide the learning and experience it takes to thrive as a committed, competent, and effective leader within the nonprofit community. LifeLung interns will become value-centered, service-oriented, and ethical leaders. All internships are unpaid.

Qualifications:

  • A desire to serve others and contribute to the mission of LifeLung.

  • Current undergraduate or graduate student, or recent graduates who have studied nonprofit management, business, public administration, public policy, or humanities.

  • Sales or fundraising experience or an interest in learning more and soliciting donors.

  • Functional proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Possess written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Positive attitude and outgoing personality.

  • Strong work ethic, willingness to embrace the mission and vision of the organization 

  • Maintain strict confidentiality and privacy for all records.

  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Hours & Commitment: It is expected to establish and maintain a consistent schedule. Most interns at LifeLung complete 2-4 internship hours per week with a minimum commitment of 1 semester or approximately 3 months. 

Benefits: We deeply value the time and work product of our interns, however, at this time we do not offer financial compensation to our interns. We take our responsibility to train our interns very seriously and we believe the opportunity our interns have to learn from founders in their field is an invaluable one. We want every intern to leave our program more prepared for the next step in their career. Additional benefits include:

  • A one-on-one meeting with the founders of LifeLung. Interns can use this time to develop or update their resumes and learn effective interview skills.

  • Interns in good standing will receive a letter of recommendation written by the founders upon successful completion of their internship.

Application Process: Candidates for this position will complete the LifeLung Intern Application. Qualified candidates will be invited to interview for the role. LifeLung interns will be required to attend intern orientation and pass a background check.
